ABOUT

We enjoy two fantastic dog breeds and strive to be good stewards of the breeds, as well as, approachable representatives to those interested in learning more about these amazing dogs.

It is our desire to maintain the breeds' original working drive by keeping our dogs active in various activities.  We also believe that showing our dogs is beneficial to our breeding program as it gives us outside information on how our dogs match up to the breed standard.  We are active members of the Portuguese Water Dog Club of America and the Lagotto Romagnolo Club of America.  We hope you enjoy visiting the pages on our site; we welcome questions from those interested in these fabulous breeds.

We have lived in several states while traveling with David's job in the U.S. Army.  Alabama is where our extended family lives and where we now call home.    We have lived all across the U.S. including Hawaii for four years.  Hawaii is where our journey with the Portuguese Water Dog began.  Kendal has a long history of showing and competing in animal related activities such as 4-H Cattle Showing, livestock judging and holding positions in local and state FFA office. We are active in church and school activities with our children, and we have always had animals.  It was not until our move to Hawaii that we discovered the sport of dog showing and the vast array of activities available to purebred dog fanciers. We are water lovers from swimming, jet skiing, fishing or just enjoying a day on the lake.  Kendal's first show dog experience was with a Standard Poodle.  The Poodle was a great breed to learn a lot about grooming, proper presentation of a show dog and the importance of the breed standard.

We have several Portuguese Water Dogs that either live with us or other families.  You can visit the "Our Portuguese Water Dogs" page to see some more details about our dogs.  We enjoy many different aspects of dog competition such as conformation, obedience, rally, water work and therapy work but just getting outside and playing in the water with the dogs is also something we enjoy.

The Lagotto Romagnolo has been a breed that has interested us for some time.  It wasn't until 2013 that we began the search for Lagotto breeders to obtain a puppy.  We have imported several Lagottos from Europe from responsible breeders that believe in honoring the heritage of the breed and we now have our second generation of American-bred Lagottos to build upon the foundation of those imported dogs.  More information about our dogs is on the "Our Lagotto Romagnolos" page.

It is the love for the dogs and the desire to raise healthy animals that motivates us to compete in conformation and working venues with our dogs and health test our breeding dogs.  We feel this is the best we can do to bring healthy puppies into the world.  Our dogs are well-loved house pets first and foremost and any litter of puppies will be treated the same way. They are very well socialized to children, other dogs,  and much more.  Stud dogs are chosen carefully and many preparations are made far in advance before any breeding occurs.  We want to make a positive impact on the Portuguese Water Dog and the Lagotto Romagnolo so that generations after us can still experience the same vivacious breeds.  Hopefully, our dedication and love for the breeds is evident when sharing our passion with other dog lovers. God has blessed us with some wonderful animals and relationships with other breeders for support.

Our faith is in Jesus Christ and our desire is to please Him in how we treat our animals and in our interaction with others.  We hope you enjoy the site and please don't hesitate to contact us if you would like to know more about our dogs.  I urge anyone interested in obtaining any puppy to do your research and learn about the breed and what to look for in a breeder.  Thank you for spending a little time on the Boardwalk!
